Radijojo partners with KiDz HuB for the Transatlantic School Initiative - USA

Radijojo World Children's Media Network (Radijojo) kicks of the Transatlantice School Initiative in the USA in partnership with the KiDz HuB Media Network.

"We are very pleased to host Tom here in the USA for this very important work" said Orlando Dillon, speaking at the last Board of Directors' meeting in Old Bridge New Jersey.

Both youth media outlets have collaborated on content sharing and best practices over the last three years and have now engaged on a very exciting international collaboration in February 15-20, 2016. As part of KiDz HuB's media literacy Media KluB kick off in schools and as part of the initial training, kids will will participate in the the Transatlantic School Initiative,

This will include workshops for students, teachers and parents .

Educational goals and content:

In this workshop, we will be strengthening our partnership between Germany and the USA, between America and Europe. More specifically, they shall strengthen the friendship and partnership between students, educators and parents by sharing ideas and experiences and making friends.

We shall discuss a wide range of issues like aspects of the Transatlantic past, present and future; the common cultural heritage and our common responsibility for Peace. Thomas Rohlinger, founder of radiojojo, will be our guest speaker/presenter and will share experiences of his work as Keynote Speaker of the Global Education Conference, as “Global Expert“ of the UN Alliance of Civilizations and as contributor to high-level UNESCO publications on Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue during the workshop.

Subsequent to the workshop Kidz HuB will continue to welcome various mentors and volunteers to lend their expertise to enriching our kids in workshop as presenters or co-presenters on a range of topics and activities

Duration: The module consists of three days with students (around 20 participants) and two days of work with educators/parents/volunteers (around 6-10 participants).

Funding:

The project is funded by the German Federal Government via the Transatlantic Program; which is a gesture of gratitude of Germany for the American support with after World War II.

Donations are welcome; as they shall be dedicated to make our work sustainable in the long-run – with Radijojo America and the KiDz HuB partnership.
