KiDz HuB Cover the 8th Nickelodeon #HALOAwards 2016
The 2016 HALO Awards is one of the huge annual events that Nickelodeon stages each year. The #HALOawards honors the hard work of four youth who are making a difference in their communities, by H-elping A-nd L-eading O-thers (HALO). Created and hosted by by Nick Cannon, the HALO Awards is in its 8th year.
The KiDz HuB Network was on the orange carpet to cover it all. In 2014, hubbers saw and interviewed celebrities and even got to interview Nick Cannon himself. This year my fellow Junior Broadcasters, Roland and Emma did a pinky swear that they would get Nick Cannon to dance with the. They practiced on the carpet and Nick obliged. The hashtag is #DanceWithNick." Nickelodeon will share the stories of these 4 youth leaders and help to amplify their mission and tell their story.
I was honored to be part of the broadcast team. I would like to congratulate the other members of the KiDz HuB team for covering the Nickelodeon HALO Awards. Great Job Team ! #HALOawards

HALO's Heroes
Meet Grace After overcoming her own battle with cancer, Grace started We Cancerve, an organization that creates activities to bring happiness to homeless, sick, and foster children through events and donations. So far, they've been able to help over 3,700 children in need!
Meet Jonas In Los Angeles, Jonas met a homeless child the same age as he was. It inspired him to start Love in the Mirror, which provides disadvantaged youth with basic necessities like food, clothing, and learning materials. His organization has helped over 45,000 families through fundraising and donations!
Meet Chris Chris saw rising crime rates and failing school systems in his hometown (Kinston, NC) and decided to do something about it. After meeting with the mayor about his concerns, Chris founded the Kinston Teens Inc., which gives teens pride in their community while also giving them leadership and community service opportunities!
Meet Lillian Lillian's organization is Vision For and From Children! After dealing with her own eyesight problems, she wanted to find a way to give more children the eye care they need, but can't always receive. VFAFC now supports children across the globe with sight-saving surgeries and vision services.
