This week is Computer Science Education Week and students at Timothy Christian School (TCS) will have an opportunity to participate in the Hour of Code, an international event that has grown to include over 100 one hour computer science activities. This year all students from kindergarten through grade 10 will participate.

Mrs. Debbie Hubler, K-12 Media Specialist and Elementary/Middle School Technology teacher, has been using the Hour of Code in her elementary and middle school computer lab every year since the inception of Hour of Code with their simple Angry Birds puzzles four years ago. Although TCS has had strong computer science course offerings for more than 10 years, there has been a sharp increase in the number of students enrolling in these electives over the past 3 years.

Several parents have reported that the Hour of Code was just the introduction their child needed to spark an interest in programming and that many are continuing to learn through additional segments of The Hour of Code’s many offerings as well as other online offerings such as those found in the Khan Academy.

The KiDz HuB Media Network's newly-launched TCS Media KluB is excited to participate in the coverage of this fourth staging of the TCS Hour of Code 2016.
