KiDz HuB Junior Broadcaster Isheba Cornwall traveled from Jamaica West Indies to participate in #WEDay UN 2017. Isheba was hosted by a fellow Junior Broadcaster (KiDz HuB host Family), here in the United States as she attends this leadership event.
As part of the itinerary, she presented the Superintendent of School in Old Bridge New Jersey a media mentor medal, visited the Old Bridge High School and Junior AF ROTC, and met with an elementary school principal to discuss a new KiDz HuB Klub youth leadership objectives for 2017/2018. She attended WE Day UN, where she will listened to the day-long list of speakers and wrapped up her trip with a weekend camping trip to Worthington State Forest in New Jersey.
Isheba also collaborated with Teens for Teens' Samira Morin, Vice President in a new role as KiDz HuB Junior Broadcaster for We Day UN 2017. Catch Isheba's Wrap UP WHAT: WE Day UN is a partner of UN Women, UNAIDS and UN Global Compact to foster youth engagement. With the support of the Government of Canada, WE Day UN will take place during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
WE and the UN agencies have long been aligned in their beliefs that youth play an integral role in building peace and stability and share in the responsibility of improving our world. As the UNGA amasses 193 world leaders to present their outlooks about pressing world issues, WE Day UN will continue these instrumental conversations to motivate the next generation of world leaders.
Together WE and the UN agencies believe that young people are powerful and active agents for change, and to meet the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is imperative that organizations engage youth, providing tools and resources that support them in their actions to create global change.
